Frequently Asked Questions

Interestingly, the majority of companies selling red light therapy actually began in the horticulture industry, manufacturing grow lights for plants. Transitioning a core competency from plants to people is a major pivot for any company. So when these horticulture companies began selling light units to the health and wellness industry, quality became a cause for concern due to the expectation of providing health and wellness benefits.

Unlike our competitors, Clearlight's core competency is, and always has been the human body. This is why the Clearlight Light Therapy® product line is actually different -- our products were designed for humans and to benefit humans since the inception of our company.

Invest in a company that is invested in your well-being.

Clearlight Health® attains excellence in each of our products. When you buy from us, you are receiving a product guaranteed to work. We do not consider it selling when we identify companion wellness tools for our customers; it is more like match-making.

We are passionate about healthy lifestyles and commit ourselves and our company to improve quality of life whenever or wherever our wellness tools are applicable.

Harnessing the power of nature to benefit the wellness of human-beings began as a passion and has led us to form a company to serve the greater good.

If you are going to invest in anything, invest with the people who are most passionate about helping others!

Clearlight Wellness® offers doctor designed and endorsed red light therapy products.

Trying new technology products can quickly become confusing and frustrating. Our products are designed so to eliminate the possibility of hurting yourself or 'over doing it'. There is no need to overthink when using Clearlight Red Light Therapy® products; we've taken the liberty of doing that for you.

Yes. Clearlight Light Therapy® must be used on bare skin to experience health benefits.

Clearlight Red Light Therapy products may be used to increase testosterone levels in male humans. Based on published articles in the news, most doctors are quick to discredit red light therapy as a natural way to increase testosterone, as they assume the red light will not reach the testes' skin.

Seriously, if you are experiencing dwindling testosterone and want to try this out - simply drop trou' and allow your member to bathe in the glow of Clearlight Light Therapy® for 5-10 minutes, 3-4 times per week.

Our commitment to quality is not limited to manufacturing. We take quality testing to the next level, often testing product effectiveness on ourselves; especially before claiming health benefits.

For our test, we used the Core Light unit. We went to the doctor to test our testosterone level before starting any red light therapy. This test served as our baseline for comparison. After 4 weeks of red light therapy sessions to boost testosterone (this means where we shined the light), we took another test and the results were undeniable. Testosterone increased.

The proof is in the testosterone test.

Similar to all aspects of life, there can always be too much of a good thing. Also applicable to all aspects of life...moderation is the key.

Clearlight Light Therapy units include timer-settings and pre-set intervals to aid healing. The health benefit you are attempting to achieve will determine the amount of time spent for each session.

We do not recommend sessions longer than 30 minutes. This is why it is the longest timer option.

Light therapy uses colors for their proposed wellness abilities in treating emotional and physical disturbances. Light therapy is based on the premise that different colors evoke different responses in people. For example, some colors are considered to be stimulating, whereas others may be soothing. Color therapy has been suggested for many uses, based on tradition or on scientific theories. Consult with a health care provider before using color therapy for any use.

Healing With Color

Color is light split into different wavelengths vibrating at different speeds and at different frequencies.

Objects that ABSORB all wavelengths and DO NOT reflect are black in nature.

Objects that REFLECT all wavelengths and DO reflect are white in nature.

Between black and white lies COLOR. Colors are wavelengths of energy that, to us, appear as color because of the potential and capabilities of the object to either absorb or reflect the energy.

Red Light is called “The Great Energizer.”

Additional Colors of Light are used in the form of Chromotherapy. All of Clearlight Infrared Saunas come with Chromotherapy -- check it out: infraredsauna.com

Our skin is our largest organ and quite complex. Light receptors found in our skin layers, or dermis, are naturally at an angle. The angle determines the intensity of light our skin will absorb, as well as the size of the coverage area on your body which will receive treatment.

Clearlight LEDs are placed in the light unit within concave cones providing the perfect angle to maximize your skin's absorption with cross-acceptance angles so you receive the maximum amount of benefits possible, in the shortest amount of time.

Nope. Near infrared wavelengths contained in Clearlight Light Therapy products is the same near infrared which radiates from the sun. Standard sunglasses provide adequate protection for your eyes during Clearlight Red Light Therapy.

Put on your favorite pair of shades and experience Red Light Therapy in style, while protecting your eyes.

We include optional (meaning, you do not have to wear what we provide) eye protection with every Clearlight Light Therapy product.

Your first step is to determine what part of your body shall receive the light treatment.

Once you identify the location, for example, let's say it is your lower back; remove all clothing layers from this area so your bare skin is exposed. Then, position your body so your lower back (or your target area) is directly facing the light unit.

Product Manager Pro Tip: If you are using our moveable floor stand, the stand design is set to the ideal distance of 6 inches. Simply line your feet up with the base on the stand to ensure you are getting the most from light therapy.

Referencing an article available on the Cleveland Clinic Foundation’s website citing registered dietician Nicole Hopsecgor, RD, “Free radicals can damage the body’s cells by changing a cell’s DNA, or it can alter a cell’s membrane,” explains Hopsecger. “This interaction between free radicals and the body is called oxidative stress, which is often thought to be what contributes to the increased risk of developing chronic disease.”

Yes. Sunburn is a skin condition which requires the regeneration of your skin cells which is one of the specific benefits of red light therapy.

Occasional dusting may be required as dust buildup can interfere with the delivery of light waves to your skin. A Swiffer® dusting product works great based on our experience! Clearlight Light Therapy® products come with a dust bag which is a convenient option for storing the light unit when not in use.

Some individual’s skin may be more sensitive and therefore able to feel the heat from infrared. However, regardless of your sensitivity level, the unit will not feel hot enough to operate as a heater and there are no impacts or possible side effects.
